Oak ridge/clinton

This city was initially named Burrville after the first Vice president to serve under Thomas Jefferson, Aron Burr. However, after he was charged with treason eight years later, the name was changed to Clinton.

Oak Ridge and Clinton are two cities located in the Knoxville Metropolitan area. Although similar, Clinton provides a more rural life feel. On the other hand, Oak Ridge is its own city, with Melton Hill Lake creating a border of water on one side and small mountains on the other.

Oak Ridge city is an excellent option if you have school-aged children. Their schools are very well known for their outstanding reputation. In fact, Oak Ridge city schools were recently ranked as the best school district in all of Tennessee.

There are also plenty of non-school-related learning activities available. You can stop by the American Museum of Science and energy, take a trip to the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge, or visit the Manhattan Project National Historical Park Visitor Center.

Both Oak Ridge and Clinton are very close to Wind Rock off-roading park. Oak Ridge has grown recently with a lot of new shopping and dining options, with the potential for even more growth still on the horizon. If you’re a beer lover, make sure you take a trip to Aubrey’s, a local restaurant that sports the largest selection of taps in all of East Tennessee.

You can stop by one of their unique eateries, like Hibachi Burger of Oak Ridge, to pick up some Asian American fusion cuisine or grab comfort food at Dean’s Restaurant & Bakery.
